TIME. LOVE. MEMORY.
These are the themes that inspire and consume me. I am a neuroscientist by training and an artist by passion. My paintings often explore the boundaries, real and imagined, at the intersection of the mind and the physical body. Eternal questions that linger; what are the origins of consciousness, of memory, of love? Are they just a manifestation of nerve chemistry, or more than the sum of nerve function? Where is sorrow or beauty found in a cell.
Neuroscientists and artists share their quest for exploring the human condition and both are ultimately facing a seemingly insoluble problem. The question remains. Can the human mind ever completely grasp itself?
